
2025 Beach Access Network Research Workshop (UFRJ & UFS, Brazil)
August 2025 in Brazil, with public events in two sessions and two locations: first in Rio de Janeiro, on August 18 and 20, at UFRJ’s Casa da Ciência; then in Aracaju, at Caju Hub – Centro de Cultura e Arte J. Inácio, on August 22.
Public Space Research Group Director Setha Low will present on the topic of “Beach Politics” at the upcoming 2025 Beach Access Network Research Workshop at 10:30am on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
The 2025 BAN Research Workshop will raise important reflections on social justice, with an emphasis on public access to beaches and territorial and environmental conflicts. The Beach Access workshop allows network members to gather, co-produce, and disseminate knowledge and know-how with the public about the geomorphological, ecological, and socioeconomic conditions of beach access.
