In the Public Space Research Group, we are excited to attend the World Urban Forum 10 and, with our partners, join efforts to put public space on top of the agenda.
We are going to participate and co-organize four main events centered on public space, detailed below:
- Toolkit for the Ethnographic Study of Space (TESS): Methods for the planning, design and evaluation of culturally sensitive and socially inclusive public space
- Promoting a culture of healthy public spaces: case studies and key drivers for action
- Public Space in the New Urban Agenda: New Research Findings, Strategies, and Tools; Research into Practice for Pilot Projects
- Stakeholder Roundtable on Older Persons: Leaving No One Behind: Innovation, Inclusion and Culture at the Forefront of Cities
We take the opportunity to thank our partners:
- City Space Architecture
- The UN Habitat Housing and Slum Upgrading Branch
- HealthBridge Foundation
- Urban Synergies Group
- Advocates for Public Spaces
Thank you for inviting us to their sessions and for participating in ours. With our voices combined, we are sure decision-makers around the world will hear our cases about the importance of public space, what we can learn from them and the needs and opportunities that stem from them.
Stay tuned, as we will post more information about these events as soon as it is available.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
