New Yorkers for Parks Presentation by Lucy Robson and Emily Walker

New Yorkers for Parks Presentation by Lucy Robson and Emily Walker

On  Friday, May 1 from 12-1:30 Lucy Robson and Emily Walker from New Yorkers for Parks (NY4P) gave an inspiring presentation of their goals as an organization, a review of the research and outreach that they do, and what we can do to join them in their advocacy.  Lucy and Emily have generously agreed to share their Powerpoint for their session, and we will also try to post the zoom recording of the event.  The take away is that NY4P have been able to bring together all the various public space action and activist groups including friends of parks/playgrounds, non profit organizations that fund public space as well as creating links with the many city departments that are involved in the management and care of NYC public space.  One surprising statistic is that park receive only .59% of the city budget.  Nothing when one considers how important parks are to most New Yorkers.  We will be posting a link to their organization so that you can sign on to support their good work.
